That Time of Year

It’s that time of year. Whatever ails you is conveniently pacified by wrapping a string of Christmas lights around it. We forego our typical selfishness to find ways to help the less fortunate. Unfortunately this suspension of our obsession with excess lasts about as long as it takes to forget our New Year’s resolutions. Of course, that’s also about the time that we remember about the scale that is gathering dust.

i just found your site by accident and thought i'd comment. i dont want to be in any way patronising, and especially because i dont know you this might come out the wrong way. but i just want to say you are a really really beautiful woman. you are a talented photographer. you have wit and style and freshness. you are not stick thin, but that doesnt mean you arent stunning. i am totally impressed by your amazing images, you obviously have great talent.
i know how it is to feel grotesque, but it's not a realistic feeling. i hope you are happy.
im sorry if this pissed you off.
Thanks happyspider! No offense taken. :-)
Wow! What powerful images! You have a LOT of talent! I enjoy your blog!

I am completely wrapping myself in the holidays and using my scale as a guitar holder.
My guitar weighs 7 pounds by the way.
Yo, I'm with happyspider.
Your photos are brave and phenomenal. You are gorgeous. The self deprication seems tired and beneath you -- judging from your art alone. But, hohum, I'm a woman. I understand our weight is congratulated over our genius.
